Elvis Ali Hazarika (b 21.07.1981) of Guwahati, Assam (India) has become the first person from North East India to cross the Catalina Channel in the US. Hazarika was accompanied by Rimo Saha of West Bengal who swum along with him. It was a Relay Swim. They swam approximately 40 kilometers in a record time of 10 hours 59 minutes on the 15th of August 2019. 

The Assam Book of Records (ABR) congratulates Mr Ali Hazarika for his great achievement and places his name in National Record Category.
