YOUNGEST TO SWIM THIRTY KILOMETER
Babul Gurung (b 01-03-1980) of Guwahati, Assam has set a record for swimming 30 kilometer on the mighty river ‘Brahmaputra’ for 2 hours 5 minutes on 7th July 1991 along with 6 other swimmers belonging to the under 18 category. Master Babul was the youngest one on the team in the male group. He was 11 years old then and has now grabbed the state record honour for becoming the youngest swimmer to swim such a long distance.
The Assam Book of Records (ABR) congratulates him and puts his name in the State Record Category.
