Angel Priya Saikia (b 30-10-2013), daughter of Madhusmita Phukon Saikia and Partha Saikia of Amguri, Sivasagar, Assam, and a student of standard III at Don Bosco High School, Amguri, Sivasagar, Assam, has set a record by winning a total of eight gold medals in Taekwondo: three in Poomsae (blocking and punching movements) and five in Kyorugi (fighting). At the age of four, she had won her first gold medal (State Level). She, along with being a black belt holder in Taekwondo, has also won the best fighter prize in two events. As a result of her efforts, she has become the first girl in the state of Assam to win so many gold medals at such a young age.

The Assam Book of Records (ABR) honours her with a State Record certificate and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavours.
