STATE ANTHEM WRITTEN WITH NEEDLE AND WOOL
Jolly Dekaraja (b 14-04-1997 ), daughter of Pratima Dekaraja and Utpal Dekaraja, and a resident of Tetelisara Grant, Kampur, Nagaon, Assam, has set a record for writing the state anthem on a hand-woven towel known as ‘Gamusa’, in 23 hours and by doing so, has become the first person to create text using needle and wool. She completed the wool work with legible writing in an ad hoc manner, without laying out the composition of her creation. On 4th of September, 2022, the record was set at her residence.
The Assam Book of Records (ABR) appreciates her craft and places her name in the State Record category.
