LONGEST FOOT MARCH OF THE STATE
Gauri Sankar Kalita (b 08-01-1995), son of Bimala Kalita and Tilak Chandra Kalita of Bheruadal, Darrang, Assam, has established a record for marching 4020 kilometres on foot, beginning in Mangalodoi Town on 24th December 2021 and ending in Bheruadal Darrang on 4th April 2022. He covered every district in Assam during his expedition. In addition to protecting tree plantation, his marching mission is to honour the valiant Kargil War martyrs with the assistance and cooperation of the Assam Police.
The Assam Book of Records (ABR) appreciates his arduous efforts and places his name in the State Records category.
